In addition to the new folding phone, Xiaomi has also announced a new smartwatch at its Summer keynote. Yup. Again. The Xiaomi Watch Color 2 and Xiaomi Watch S1 are now joined by Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro, a premium smartwatch.
Aesthetically, the Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro smartwatch looks similar to the S1 but there are some subtle design tweaks which include a smart crown with CNC machined “pyramid” knurled side, a brushed stainless steel case, and a screw-less design
The Pro model has a larger, denser display with a narrower bezel and a larger capacity battery. Moreover, the Pro model has not one but two sapphire crystals; one protects the 1.47-inch narrow bezel AMOLED display of 480 x 480 pixels and 600 nit brightness, and another protects the optical sensor on the case back.
It is a tad smaller than the S1, having a 46 mm case diameter but it has a larger capacity battery, a 500 mAh item, that is good for up to 14 days long battery life and like its counterpart, it has wireless charging.
It comes in two colorways: black with black rubber strap and silver with light brown, handcrafted leather. There is an optional steel bracelet that will fit both colorways.
Other spec-sheet details include a 12 nm process chip, 5 ATM water resistance, built-in mic and loudspeaker, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band wireless 802.11a/b/g/n, built-in positioning (Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS) that supports dual-band GNSS positioning, supports over 100 types of exercises, voice running coach, and a bunch of sensors, including heart rate, blood-oxygen, accelerometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic, barometric, ambient light, and more.
The new Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro runs on the all-new MIUI Watch OS and supports Android 6.0 or iOS 13 or newer.
At this point, it appears to be a China-only product with an asking price of 1,499 yuan (approximately US$222).
