Before Xiaomi became a big player, you’d be hard-pressed to find affordable gadgets from big names. Now that Xiaomi has become big, its pricing policy remains the same and this affords consumers to pick up reasonably good quality gadgets for less. The Xiaomi Watch Color 2 is the latest example.
Revealed sometime in September this year, Xiaomi Watch Color 2 is a follow-up to last year’s Watch Color. It features a 1.43-inch AMOLED display and like any good smartwatch, the display is customizable with watch faces – over 200 designs in the case of this smart timepiece.
Two physical buttons can be found on the right of the watch, one for power management and the other is reserved for interface navigation.
Other notables include built-in GPS, 117 sports modes, built-in WiFi and Bluetooth (5.2), blood-oxygen-level sensor, heart rate monitor, sleep tracking, and a 470 mAh battery good for up to 12 days of use on a single charge. The watch has a water resistance rating of 5ATM (50 meters or 164 feet).
As with previous smart timepieces, the device runs off Xiaomi’s proprietary OS but it will play well with most Android phones running Android 6.0 or later. It will work with iOS devices running iOS 10 or higher too.
Xiaomi Watch Color 2 is only available in China. The asking price is 999 yuan which is about US$157.
