the Ferrari California scored a number of firsts for Ferrari when it was first launched, hence it makes perfect sense for the prancing horse marque to up its ante for its 2012 model. set to make its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show, the revamped California sees it shedding 30 kilograms (66 pounds) of weight and an increased in power output. the GDI V8 benefits from new exhaust manifolds and engine mapping, plus higher torque across a broad rev range, giving it a maximum output of 490 horsepower and 505 Nm of torque. all told, the overall enhancements enable the new hardtop 2+2 convertible to make the century sprint in just 3.8 seconds. also on the menu is the optional “Handling Speciale” package that includes Magnetorheological dampers controlled by a quicker ECU running patented Ferrari software, stiffer springs, and a new steering box with a 10 per cent quicker steering ratio. the production is on going for 2012 Ferrari California and it, along with the optional Handling Speciale package, will see the first deliveries in Europe. however, no firm date has been provided, nor was there a price tag to it. hit the jump for larger views.
