If you haven’t got your hands on the pricey and hard-to-obtain track-focused M4 GTS, or for some reason, you are all nuts about collecting every single M4 that rolls out of the German automaker’s factory, then here’s another for your consideration: the BMW M4 CS sports coupe. BMW said the CS variety fills the gap between the M4 Coupe with Competition Package and the tracked-focused BMW M4 GTS, and it is an exclusive, limited-run special edition model. In other words, it is a M4, that have better performance over the standard M4 with Competition Package.
On the performance department, M4 CS 3L six-cylinder in-line M TwinPower Turbo motor enjoys 10 more horses over the M4 with Competition Package, at 460 hp. The growling motor is paired to a seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) with Drivelogic to enable a century sprint in under four seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 280 km/h, or about 174 mph. Features and equipment-wise the CS inherits much of the M4 with Competition Package, but it also comes standard with Adaptive M suspension that’s tuned to optimized performance on and off track and it also gets the benefit being honed on the most demanding test track, the Nürburgring Nordschleife, which it did a lap time of 7 minutes 38 seconds. So, yeah, the CS is fast, alright.
Equipment and features are not lacking either, the M4 CS comes standard with automatic climate control, a version of the BMW HiFi system Professional adapted to the signature acoustic of this car, Navigation system Professional, and on the outside, functional bits like twin LED headlights, front apron tight three-section air intakes, fade-resistant M compound brakes (paired with 4-pod and 2-pod callipers, front and rear), model-specific carbon fiber front splitter, M4 GTS rear diffuser, carbon fiber Gurney boot lid spoiler, and OLED rear lights.
But being fast and well equipped comes at a price and in this case, the BMW M4 CS Sports Coupe is expected to run you back at 116,900 euros (about US$125,340).
