2022 Aston Martin DBX707 SUV

This is the Aston Martin DBX707, the first luxury SUV from the British sports car maker. And it has arrived staking the claim as the world’s most powerful luxury SUV. That is a bold claim but it does have the numbers to back it up.

Drive forth by an Aston Martin developed 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 motor that produces a drool-worthy 707 PS (697 HP) (hence, the namesake) and turns out 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque, the DBX707 has a spell-binding SUV performance.

When paired to the new 9-speed wet clutch gearbox, the DBX707 wipes the century sprint (0-100 km/h; 0-62 mph) in mere 3.3 seconds and has an unholy-for-SUV top speed of 193 mph or 310 km/h.

The new DBX707 does not just want to stake the claim as the most powerful luxe SUV; it also wants to claim as the fastest and one with the best handling. In short, this Aston Martin’s first promised blistering speed, supreme dynamics wrapped in an unmistakably style and luxury.

Some of the highlights include Carbon Ceramic Brakes, 6-piston calipers, 22-inch wheels, a new version of an electronic limited-slip rear differential, automatic front-to-rear torque distribution, air suspension system, Electronic Active Roll Control (eARC) system, and “Race Start” feature to maximize off-the-line acceleration.

The aforementioned performances and features are relating to the range-topping DBX707. For folks who do not require that much power, there’s a DBX V8 that packs 550 PS (542 HP) and turns out 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque.

The DBX V8 is paired to a 9-speed automatic gearbox that puts the power to good use on all four wheels, enabling it to make naught-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 4.5 seconds and sending it on its way to a still forbidden for SUV top speed of 181 mph (291 km/h).

We do know when the DBX V8 will be available. However, we do know that the flagship model, the DBX707, will go into production in Q1 2022 with first deliveries scheduled to begin during early Q2 2022. Price is, of course, not disclosed yet.
