The maker who brought you Bugatti Baby II and Aston Martin DB5 Junior has shrunk yet another automobile icon, the Ferrari Testa Rossa. But this example is no ordinary scaled TR, it is the 2022 Pebble Beach Edition Ferrari Testa Rossa J by The Little Car Company.
As the name implies, this is not a regular production TRJ from The Little Car Company’s stable. It is a very special one-of-one edition, finished in Bianco Cervino with blue stripes to commemorate “Lucybelle II” (chassis 0732TR), the 1958 Le Mans 24 Hours car.
It is fully electric and it is a 75% scale reproduction of the legendary Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa. The car, which is officially licensed by Ferrari, has been developed and hand built from the ground up based on the original drawings kept by Ferrari Classiche. Its re-proportioned wire wheels, which match exactly to the original’s Borrani wheels, are wrapped in Pirelli Cinturato tires.
The 2022 Pebble Beach Edition Ferrari Testa Rossa J is powered by a 48-volt electric motor that can deliver at up to 12 kW in Race mode – the most aggressive of the four drive modes available. In Race mode, it is capable of a top speed of 50 mph (80 km/h). However, it is limited to just 19 mph (30 km/h) in North America. Like the previous scale rides, the car can be driven by both children and adults.
Other highlights include 4-wheel independent suspension, 4-wheel disc brakes, an interior trimmed in sumptuous red leather from the same tanneries that supply Ferrari for their road cars, seats that match the original TR – down to the white piping, a Nardi steering wheel with the world’s smallest steering wheel quick release system, functional instruments designed by Manettino, and a plaque on the dashboard announcing it is “1 of 1 – 2022 Pebble Beach Edition.”
The 2022 Pebble Beach Edition Ferrari Testa Rossa J by The Little Car Company is a brand new ride that will go under the hammer at the Bonhams “The Quail Auction” later this month, on August 19, 11:00 AM (PDT). It will be sold without reserve (US$90,000-US$120,000), with all profits from the sale being donated by The Little Car Company to The Pebble Beach Company Foundation. More info can be found HERE.
