There have been a lot of important reveals at the CES that proved innovations haven’t died. It ranges from a robotic chessboard to an instant COVID-19 tester to a telescope that removes light pollution. And there is the innovative dual-screen laptop and this: the world’s first 3D OLED display laptop, the ASUS ProArt StudioBook 16 3D OLED Laptop (H7604).
Glasses-free 3D technology has been around for a while now but it has refined and found its way into a laptop which is absolutely bonkers (in a good way). ASUS is calling this new technology featured on the ASUS ProArt StudioBook 16 3D OLED Laptop (H7604), ASUS Spatial Vision. This autostereoscopic 3D OLED tech features a 3D lenticular lens on a 3.2K 120 Hz OLED display that enables the 3D effect.
With a lenticular lens, each eye will be seeing two slightly different images which results in us perceiving it as a 3D image. There is an important innovation that makes ASUS Spatial Vision stands out and that is the camera array on top of the screen. The camera array tracks the user’s face and adjusts the image, in real-time, to make sure the image remains 3D whichever angle you look at it.
This also allows you to peer at the sides of the image much like looking at a real object. But what if you just need to browse the web or read texts? Well, thankfully, the 3D effect can be turned off.
Beyond the novelty of the glasses-free 3D display, the ASUS ProArt StudioBook 16 3D OLED Laptop is a premium laptop for creatives with range-topping specs. These include a 13th-Gen Intel Core i9-13980HX processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 with NVIDIA Studio Driver support, and ASUS IceCool Pro thermal technology that boasts 150W CPU + GPU performance enabled by liquid metal technology and wait for it, per-key keyboard air-intake design.
Other highlights include ASUS Dial customizable for any apps, up to 8 TB SSD (up to 7,000 MB/s transfer speed, dual upgradeable M.2 slots), up to 64 GB RAM (5,200 MHz DDR5, dual upgradeable SO-DIMM slots), haptic touchpad with stylus support, 180° lay-flat hinge, GPU MUX Switch that reduces latency and boosts performance, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support, Smart Amplifier that boasts sound to 3.5x louder without distortion, FHD IR camera, 90 Wh battery, built to MIL-STD-810H standards, and full I/O ports, including Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1 FRL, SD Express 7.0, and RJ45 LAN.
