Can’t get enough of kicks that turn heads? Well then, good news, you exist at the perfect time. The world of unusual footwear has progressed from pre-dirtied or torn sneakers to designs that make passersby giggle, like elephant shoes, yellow duck boots, and the frog-fetish Finger Feet boots. It doesn’t stop there.

Now, even mainstream sports brand, adidas, is turning heads and sparking conversations—thanks to a collaboration with avant-garde luxury fashion brand AVAVAV. Ladies and gentlemen, meet the AVAVAV x adidas Superstar Superfinger. As the name suggests, this pair of unusual kicks is the regular Superstar with, well, AVAVAV’s four fingers. It is super weird, and yet, strangely, I cannot take my eyes off it.
This design is equal parts a surreal art project and a rebellious reinterpretation of the classic adidas Superstar. The Superfinger sneakers keep the signature three stripes and shell toe but slap on an oversized, finger-like toe box that makes you do a double take.
Forget blending in; these sneakers practically demand a red carpet of their own—or at least some very understanding sidewalks. The exaggerated sculptural design makes them feel less like footwear and more like a wearable, walking statement about the absurdity of fashion norms.
Despite their playful oddity, the Superfinger doesn’t skimp on quality. With adidas ensuring comfort and durability, and AVAVAV providing its avant-garde flair, this collaboration proves that weird doesn’t mean impractical. If anything, it’s a masterclass in how far you can stretch the definition of a sneaker without breaking it—literally or metaphorically.
And if you’re ready to make them yours, they’ll set you back US$250. Oh, wait. Has it already dropped and sold out? Ugh!
