Avengers: Age of Ultron LEGO Hulkbuster UCS by Raychow

What do you think of the official LEGO Hulkbuster set (LEGO Super Heroes The Hulk Buster Smash 76031)? Not so great, eh? I know it is a LEGO set and hence it has limitations, but still, it is a far cry from the hulking, hulk’s ass kicking monster machine depicted in the Avengers: Age of Ultron movie. Having said that, you can only imagine the excitement in me when I first lay eyes on Raymond Chow AKA Raychow’s custom LEGO Hulkbuster UCS. I was totally blown away by this true hulking Hulkbuster and obviously, many LEGO and Marvel fans do too. How so?

Because this custom LEGO Hulkbuster UCS was Ray’s first submission to LEGO Ideas and not only did it garnered 125,000 views, but it has gotten 10,000 nod of approvals too. And you know what that means, don’t you? It means, Raychow’s LEGO Hulkbuster UCS has advanced to the Review phase and it has a shot of becoming an actual LEGO set. So, yay! Seriously, I simply can’t content the anticipation. But what makes Ray’s creation so yay-worthy? Well, for starter, it is scaled, which means, it can actually fit a minifig in it. Plus, it has an uncanny resemblance to the movie’s Hulkbuster and that alone, my friends, is pretty much a mega win in our books.

It took Raymond two weeks to conceptualize and built this masterpiece, and the result is a huge set with no less than 800 LEGO elements. The 40-year-old Hong Konger said that other than Marvel movies, he is also a huge Japanese comics fan, in particular, Gundam and so, not surprisingly, he confessed that he “accidentally” included some Gundam design elements into this awesome LEGO MOC. “Accidentally”, huh? To be honest, I don’t give a f*@K what you put in it, Ray, because your LEGO Hulkbuster UCS is beyond awesome (and thank you Gundam, btw).

You can be sure I will be keeping my fingers and toes crossed that this get made into an official LEGO set and if it does, you can bet my ass that I will be bagging one in a heart beat.
