We hate to sound like so informercial, but we also can’t deny that the Bag Hero Chips Stand and Closing System does looks like a ‘As Seen on TV’ product. Anywho, we don’t do this often and when we do, like now, then it had to be something we appreciate, however minute it may be. Aptly dubbed Bag Hero, this chip bag closing system is a new take on how to keep stale chips from becoming part of your chipaholic life. Sure, there are other ways of sealing it, but when it comes to sophistication and convenience in doing so, Bag Hero is the superhero (note: not a real comic superhero) in his own right. Bag Hero closing system serves two functions. The first is to keep your chips fresh by sealing up in a proper and reliable manner and the second is to act as a stand to make the bag stand (even when it is empty) so you can retrieve the chips like a pro.
To be fair, You don’t need the bag to stand to savor what’s in the bag, but it will make you eat like pro befitting a true chipaholic status. The device clips to the bottom of the chips bag, which is how it makes it stand, and a retractable tension line pulls over and secured to the other side of the gadget to keep the content of the rolled up chips bag fresh. With it being able to stand on its own, it also makes storage a whole lot neater, especially if you have tons of half consumed chips. Now comes the part where it make it appear even more infomercial-like: the Bag Hero is goes beyond sealing chips bag; it even has an optional, matching dip bowl for your favorite sauce. Just slide in the BPA-free bowl and you have yourself a complete chips-enjoying system.
Bag Hero Chips Stand and Closing System is not a reality yet. It’s inventor Mike Loewenberg needs your help in getting it to the market. Chips lovers can show their support by pre-ordering the Bag Hero through Kickstarter. Early backers can secure a pair for $12, or $16 the matching dip bowl. Like I said, its all very informercial and presenting Bag Hero in an informercial style in an almost empty kitchen as a backdrop doesn’t help to make it less “As Seen on TV”. Still, it does’t detract it from its mission to keep your chips safe from super villains known as ‘stale’.
