Just when we thought putting precious rocks on Crocs was outrageous, Balenciaga shows us that Christopher Kane’s idea might be way too tame. The Parisian fashion label has, yet again, outdone itself in loud fashion and this time, it has turned out platform version of the worst thing to happen to footwear, Crocs. Yes. Believe it. Crocs on wedge is a thing. Honestly, I don’t know what to make of it. Rightly I shouldn’t because, I am no lady. Perhaps, ladies in the house would like to comment below? Anyways, by giving Crocs platform or wedge, Balenciaga essentially branded the once-unisex footwear as a single-sex fashion item.

Now, how’s that going to work out for Balenciaga, I do not know. Well, not that men will feel left out. In any case, men who felt so incline are welcome to acquire it. This is a free world and everyone gets to decide how best should they ruin their fashion sense and how they should spend their money. First debuted at the Paris Fashion Week, there are actually two versions of the ‘platformed’ Crocs: with and without decorations. The plain jane version cost ‘just’ £350 (around US$484) while the highly decorated model commands a cool £645 (about US$893). Wow. Ruining your fashion sense sure takes quite a bit of money too. No?
