Can’t get enough of the Gashapon pop culture phenomenon? Well, if you do, you may want to check out this Gacha machine-inspired product: the Gashapon handle—a.k.a. the knob you turn to release the Gacha within (after feeding it the appropriate number of coins or tokens, of course).
Like the shoulder bag and backpack we saw before, the Bandai Official Gashapon Handle Anywhere isn’t just a collectible—it’s functional. I mean, it’s kind of functional… for when you have the sudden urge to twist a Gashapon knob. Oh, and did I mention it magnetically attaches to your MagSafe-equipped iPhone? Now that’s a MagSafe accessory we can get behind. We heard it even comes with a magnetic ring for non-MagSafe phones.
And it’s not limited to showing off your fandom on your phone—it works on your fridge too. I mean, how cool is that?
There are five designs—four are knobs from different Gashapon eras, and one is a coin/token slot. The set of five is a must-have for true Gashapon aficionados. I believe the asking price is just 100 yen (70 cents) in Japan per capsule, for a chance at one of the five designs.
We found it listed on Amazon Japan as a full set of five, though it doesn’t appear to ship internationally. It’s also listed on the Gashapon Singapore website and said to be available at two of its Gashapon locations in Singapore. Oddly enough, we couldn’t find it listed on the official Bandai Namco site.
