Traditionally, Bentley sports cars are not something that will appeal to the young, given that most of them looks pretty much like the automaker’s grand limos with two less doors. However, things are about to change for the long-time British luxury car maker and we have a feeling it is going to start with the Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept Car. Debuted earlier this year in Geneva, Bentley has taken this refreshing concept to last month’s Concorso d’Eleganza at Villa D’Este and not surprisingly, the design was validated, wowing the judges and subsequently earning the EXP 10 Speed 6 the ‘Design Award for Concept Cars & Prototypes’. The thing about this concept from the Crewe-based company is, it looks decidedly a Bentley and at the same time, it has a design that’s clearly a huge departure from the firm’s usual design language.
While EXP 10 Speed 6 did inherit some existing design features, including the bulging rear and iconic egg-crate grille, everything about it is very new. Refreshing is what we would describe it as. Overall, the luxe beast is much more muscular and athletic, and has more obvious curves to it than any other previous Bentley rides. The change is not limited to the exterior. The inside also gets the much needed redesign, starting with a two-seater configuration bathed in tan quilted leather upholstery, along with a lot of aluminum accents. There’s also some (again, much needed) high-tech additions including a digital dash and center console – all of which makes the Bentley more updated. Analog seems like a thing of the past for this concept, though it did retain the obligatory analog clock. There’s little information on this car even though it has since graced a few shows and locations, so don’t hold your breathe for one anytime soon. Like, seriously not anytime soon.
