Medicom BE@RBRICK’s open canvas nature has resulted in countless collaborations which, in part, led to its collectability today. That said, when there is a trending pop culture, you are likely to see a Kubrick-style, pot-bellied bear toy version.
One of the latest trending pop culture phenomena to join the BE@RBRICK universe is the Evangelion 3.0+1.0. BE@RBRICK x Evangelion 3.0+1.0 is offered in three styles: the iconic Unit 01, Unit 13, and Unit 08 – all of which are based on the mechas’ appearance in the Rebuild of Evangelion series, specifically the concluding installment, Evangelion 3.0+1.0.
Unfortunately no, the Unit 13-inspired BE@RBRICK does not have four arms. It does have two sets of eyes though.
Both Unit 01 and Unit 13 versions are offered in 1,000% (700 mm) size as well as a set consisting of 400% (280 mm) and 100% (70 mm) figures. Unit 08, on the other hand, is only offered as 400% size.
The 1000% Unit 01 and Unit 13 will sell for 74,800 yen ea. and the 400%+100% set for 14,300 yen per set when they become available in August 2022. The 400% Unit 08 retails for 12,100 yen.
All three styles are available to international buyers from MCT Tokyo, with the 1000% model commanding US$599 ea. while the 400%+100% set, US$115, and the lone 400% figure, US$97.
