This is Blanc. It is not Daft Punk’s helmet, though we have to admit that it does have the vibe. It lacks of fancy LED light show anyways. While it does look like a helmet from the front, it is really just a mask. Blanc is billed as the only full-face modular mask in the market.
Blanc is a HEPA-enabled face mask that promised not only protects your from airborne nasties, but also protects your identity. In addition, it is a fashion statement – thanks to the hundreds of changeable panels. Switching style is a matter of unclipping the front panel and snapping in a new one.
Is this the future moving forward? You know, a future where we don’t see faces of others and also the future of no Face ID. Well, I guess the post-Jobs Apple is not quite as the visionary Jobs was. Else, they would have see face isn’t a future-proof identification method for phones and tablets. Just saying…
Back to Blanc… it is really more like a face shield, except that it isn’t transparent and it is provides an air-tight seal. It protects the eyes, nose and mouth, and boasts 2 high-efficiency reusable and replaceable, SGS lab-tested HEPA filters to scrub the air of impurities.
Meanwhile, a one-way visor lets you see what’s going on in the world around you and adjustable straps afford customized fit.
It is sad that we have to come to this. But reality is reality, and if you are ready to submit to this sad reality, you may want to consider joining over 3,000 backers on Kickstarter in backing for the Blanc.
The campaign is already well over its funding goal. This means, a pledge for a product is a pre-order which will be fulfilled sometime in March 2021. As for the price, it is naturally not cheap. You are looking at at least US$79.
