Bluetti, the purveyor of emergency/portable power that isn’t fueled by diesel, recently returned with a new portable power station, the Bluetti Apex 300. It went on Indiegogo and became one of—if not the most—funded portable power stations this year. Over 2,500 backers banked in a whopping 5.4 million dollars to bring the project alive. The campaign ended on July 20, and if you missed it, good news: it has officially hit retail.
So what is this chunky block of electrons? In short: a monster. The Apex 300 holds 2,764.8 Wh of power and spits out up to 3,840 W. That’s enough juice to power fridges, RVs, medical gear, and probably your existential dread during a blackout. And if you think that’s impressive, get this: it can scale up to 58 kWh and pump out 11.52 kW. At that point, it’s less a power station and more a small utility company.
Its LiFePO₄ battery is rated for 17 years of daily use—which means it may outlive your roof, your appliances, and possibly you. It also sips power with a 20 W idle draw, making it ideal for extended standbys without eating itself alive. You even get real-time extreme weather alerts via the Bluetti app, just in case your portable power station wants to play meteorologist.
Much like our phones, it has Turbo Charging too when you need to pack it up with electrons. We are talking about 80% in 45 minutes. It can be recharged in multiple ways: wall, solar, or your car. It’s got ports for days—USB-C, USB-A, AC, DC, cigarette lighter, Anderson—you name it. It even has a zero-millisecond UPS switchover to keep your gear running mid-apocalypse.
The Bluetti Apex 300 is available now at Bluettipower.com for US$1,599. In dollars and cents, that is not cheap. But for something that can run your life when the power is out, I’d say it is a small price.
