If you are a sports person who is expected to get a little rough every now and then, then perhaps a rugged smartwatch is what you need to keep track of your fitness. If so, Casio G-Shock Move GBDH2000 Multi-Sport Watch may be a great fit for you.
The new Casio G-Shock Move GBDH2000 Multi-Sport Watch may resemble the GBDH1000 introduced three years ago but it is in fact imbued with a new dual-layer frame design for enhanced comfort fit and ease of operation.
In addition, it boasts a carbon-neutral bio-based resin which is used to make the case, case back, and soft urethane band. Produced using materials derived from renewable organic resources, biomass plastics can help to reduce environmental impact by curbing CO2 emissions. It is a step in the right direction for sustainability.
The new GBDH2000 packs 6 sensors, including an optical heart rate sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetic sensor, pressure sensor, and thermo sensor, plus GPS functionality to track physical activity in real-time. Leveraging the optical heart rate sensor, the watch is able to advise the user’s blood oxygen level.
Another key improvement is a thinner rechargeable battery that keeps the weight of this smart rugged timepiece down. Speaking of battery… the watch also touts solar-assisted charging for time display when it runs low on juice.
The watch supports 8 activities, including running, cycling, and swimming, which are selectable at the touch of a button to track and display a variety of measurements in real-time. Moreover, the watch also offers in-depth training and sleep analysis provided by POLAR.
Other notables include shock resistance (obviously), water resistance to 20 bar (200 meters or about 660 feet), textured side buttons super illuminator high-brightness full-auto LED backlight, Bluetooth connectivity, automatic time adjustment, push notifications, phone finder, a companion app that helps manage data tracked by the watch, and the usual suite of watch functions like full-auto calendar, world time, stopwatch, plus enhanced watch functions like sunrise and sunset time, moon data and more.
It is indeed a well-rounded sports smartwatch that could very well serve as a survival smart timepiece too. Two models are being offered, namely, GBDH2000-1A and GBDH2000-1A9, each going for US$399. The watch was officially released back in March 2023.
