Prime 1 Studio is a studio that produces life-like popular culture statues. On the other spectrum is Cutie 1, a studio that does the same, but in a funner way. The Cutie 1 Beast Wars Convoy (aka Optimus Primal) and Megatron are some of those fun products.
Previously, exclusive to Prime 1 website, the Cutie 1 Beast Wars Convoy and Megatron Figures are now available to order, in Japan, from Cutie 1 website. For the uninitiated, Cutie 1 is a toy company that turns characters into adorable, stuffed toy-like versions, but they are not actually stuffed toys; they vinyl figures with the stuff toy-look.
The result is a character that has buttons for eyes, a zipper for the mouth, and stitches all over the figure. There have been many so-called deformed toys, but nothing quite like this stuff animal concept.
They are super adorable. Even a big, bad villain like T-Rex Megatron managed to look cute. OK. It is not all cute; it is cute with a dash of evilness.
The figures are made of soft vinyl, PVC, and ABS, and each figure comes paired to an ABS material display base.
The figure measures 12 cm (4.72 inches) tall.
Both the Cutie 1 Beast Wars Convoy and Beast Wars Megatron are available for pre-order from Cutie1.com for 5,500 yen (roughly US$50) each. It is also available as a set, selling for 11,000 yen (about US$100).
