Recently we came across an Apple advisory against covering the webcam on MacBook. Apparently, those third party camera shutters may run the risk of cracking the screen when the laptop is closed. That said, if webcam privacy is your top priority, Dell Latitude 9420 and 9520 Laptops may be able to quell your concerns.
These two laptops are the industry’s first to feature automatic webcam shutter known as SafeShutter. SafeShutter knows when to automatically open or close by syncing with your video conferencing applications, so you can be confident that no one is stalking through the webcam.
It is like the pop-up front-facing camera on some smartphones. If the camera pops up when you are not using, you know it has gone rogue.
In addition, the duo also lets you take control of your privacy with secure mic and mute keys, so that you’d have a peace of mind knowing that the “ears” won’t be snooping on you.
Beyond that, the Dell Latitude 9420 and 9520 features the 11th-gen vPro chips, up to Core i7 processor, up to 32 GB of RAM, and optional 5G or LTE radios. In case you are wondering, the 9420 is a 2-in-1 14-inch model while the 9520 is a 15.6-inch model.
The Dell Latitude 9420 and 9520 are expected to be available this Spring. Meanwhile, you may learn more about Dell Latitude line of business laptops HERE.
