Moza Racing is not alone in launching direct-drive racing wheels for PlayStation 5. Fanatec, which is a veteran when it comes to officially licensed PlayStation sim accessories, has announced a new rig, the ClubSport F1 Racing System. Granted, this new officially licensed Formula 1 direct-drive system is not exclusive to PlayStation. It is designed for PlayStation 5 consoles, PlayStation 4 consoles, as well as PC.
Debuting at the Tokyo Game Show 2026, the new ClubSport F1 Racing System succeeds the ClubSport Racing Wheel F1. While it retains the ClubSport DD+ Wheel Base, it introduces the exclusive ClubSport F1 V3 Steering Wheel.
The familiar base delivers up to 18 Nm of holding torque, which should provide enough resistance to make wrestling a virtual Formula 1 car feel appropriately serious. It also features Fanatec’s FullForce technology, which uses game telemetry to generate more detailed effects through the wheel. In addition to steering forces, drivers can feel finer sensations produced by the road surface, engine, tires, and other happenings that a controller would reduce to a polite vibration.
The new steering wheel is based on the ClubSport Formula V3 but wears an exclusive Formula 1-inspired color scheme and forged-carbon finish. It is wider than its predecessor, offering a more natural driving position and improved comfort.
The wheel packs 15 RGB LEDs, a 2.7-inch white OLED display, two seven-way FunkySwitches, rotary dials, and 12-way switches. Basically, there are enough controls to make changing brake bias while heading into a corner feel like actual work.
An exclusive version of the Podium Advanced Paddle Module comes preinstalled. Its upper and middle paddles use the same forged carbon fiber as the wheel, while the lower analog paddles are fashioned from anodized black aluminum.
The system works with Fanatec’s extensive collection of pedals, shifters, and accessories. However, pricing and availability remain unknown because the ClubSport F1 Racing System is still undergoing final review by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Production will begin following final approval, so aspiring drivers still have time to explain why the living room urgently requires 18 Nm of torque.
