Give your back a pair of “eyes” when cycling with the Garmin Varia Rearview Radar for Bicycle. Designed to be installed on your bicycle, the new Garmin Varia RVR315 and Varia RTL515 alerts you of approaching vehicles.
RVR315 is a rearview radar while RTL515 is a rearview radar with integrated taillight that could be seen a mile away in daylight.
New to the RTL5151 is the peloton mode that offers low-intensity flashing, so you will not blind fellow cyclists behind you.
When paired with compatible Garmin device, the new Varia app, or a dedicated radar display unit, you will receive both visible and audible alerts of vehicles approaching from behind, from up to 140 meters, or about 460 feet away.
And the visual alert is totally non distracting. If you are using a phone, green alerts you that the rear is all clear, amber indicates an approaching vehicle and red means a vehicle is coming in at high speed.
The new Varia rearview radar can integrate with popular third-party apps like Ride with GPS, allowing you to overlay your maps with rearview radar alerts.
Garmin Varia Rearview Radar for Bicycle is available now, selling for US$149.99 and US$199.99 for the RVR315 and RTL515, respectively.
