From a rideable PC bicycle to a full-size Iron Man suit PC, and even a functional toilet gaming PC, we thought we had seen it all. But truth be told, when it comes to custom PCs, the only limit is one’s imagination. And imagination is clearly in overdrive over at CherryTree Computers—the folks behind the super cool Borg Cube PC.

A few months ago, the PC maker pulled an April Fools’ Day prank on GamersNexus with a mini PC build packed inside an old GPU—complete with atypical GPU packaging. The mini PC, dubbed the GeeFarce 5027 POS, uses a gutted RTX 2070 Super as its case.
Apart from the triple-fan cooler, which helps keep things chill, the original GPU internals have been replaced with actual PC components, including an integrated Asus NUC 13 Pro board featuring a 28W, 12-core/16-thread Core i7-1360P chip, integrated Iris Xe graphics, 64 GB DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM RAM, and a 2 TB MP33 PCIe 3.0 SSD.
The NUC is positioned close to the I/O bracket, meaning this GPU-turned-PC can actually be installed in a full-sized desktop’s expansion slot—resulting in a very Inception-style PC-within-a-PC scenario.
It offers a full range of I/Os, including two HDMI 2.1 ports, two Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2, USB 2.0, and 2.5 GbE ports. As for power, the original 8-pin PCIe connector has been replaced with a barrel jack, allowing the device to be powered by an external adapter. Alternatively, it can be powered via a 12V PCIe power connector, if so desired.
