Godzilla Minus One Movie Official Trailer

Godzilla does not seem to be able to die in the films. Meanwhile, in the real world, this immortality applies to the franchise too, which had no less than 36 films and counting. We will never really see the last of it, really. Speaking of which, there is another Godzilla flick coming your way.

The new Godzilla film, entitled Godzilla Minus One, is the first live-action Japanese Godzilla film since 2016’s Shin Godzilla. Not a lot is known about the plot, though, except that it is set in postwar Japan where Godzilla emerged as a new threat. So I am guessing Gojira is the bad guy? I could be wrong.

Godzilla Minus One Movie Poster

Anyhoo, Toho Studios dropped the official trailer earlier this month which kind of revealed a little of what to expect but you could learn more if you understand Japanese. The movie stars Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando, and Kuranosuke Sasaki, and is written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki and features music by Naoki Sato.

The Godzilla Minus One will be screened as the closing film of the 36th Tokyo International Film Festival on November 01. Two days later, on November 03, it will see a Japanese theatrical release. It will open in the U.S. on December 01, 2023. No words on other countries outside of Japan and the U.S., though. Meanwhile, enjoy the official trailer embedded below.
