Hasbro Ghostbusters Plasma Series Ecto-1

I don’t care if the Ghostbusters: Afterlife will be as iconic as the 80s flick that started it all because, this new collectible/toy from Hasbro is just way too cool. Or did the promotional images made it look cool? Nah. It can’t be. I mean, it is the Ecto-1 that we are talking about. Well, the 2020 version, that is.

Hasbro Ghostbusters Plasma Series Ecto-1

Hasbro has announced that the Ghostbusters Plasma Series Ecto-1 will be joining its Plasma Series which already include the delightful Spengler’s Neutrona Wand and several 6-inch figures. I must say this toy is looking pretty awesome, right down to its packaging which is very collectible-like.

It is loaded with details, including the wear and “rust” we will be seeing on the big screen. The patina is an obvious hint of it being the Ecto-1 in 2020 (or 2021?). It is the same Ecto-1, but older.

Features include opening doors, rolling wheels, a blaster seat that swings out and deployable RTV. Sweet. There’s one caveat though. You know those 6-inch figures from the Plasma Series? Well, they won’t scale with this new toy. The Ghostbusters Plasma Series Ecto-1 is 1/18th. Awww. What a bummer.

Then again, those figures are based on the 80s characters, so we let it slide that isn’t 1/6th scale. Also, if it’s 1/6th scale it wouldn’t be as affordable, at US$49.99.

Not surprising at all. These days, everything seems to get sold out pretty quick, don’t they? But do not alarmed. It was the pre-order that has been sold out. Hopefully, more stock will drop when the release day come. Fingers crossed.
