It looks like the biggest ever Hasbro Transformers product, the Transformers: War For Cybertron Unicron, is on track to be shipped in early 2021. It is indeed a good news if you are one of the backers. As the shipping draws closer, Hasbro’s HasLab has shared an update on the testing of the massive shipping box which the massive figure will come packaged in.
Why is this important? Well because, you will want to receive the Chaos Bringer in one piece. After all, it is the most expensive official Transformers ever. Plus, it is heavy and complex toy that any mishandling could result in damage. The last thing anyone want is to see Unicron arrived in the state like its ending in the ’86 movie.
With that in mind, Hasbro has taken steps to ensure that packaging will survive a typical distribution process, including drops, compression, vibrations et cetera, so that your 27-inch figure will arrive at your home safely in one piece. TBH, I am not quite convinced. Because, it did not show us how the internal was packaged to ensure that the product will remain intact.
In the same update, HasLab also shared the quality aspect of the product itself:
“It was important that the conversion be as smooth as possible. We also knew our fans would want to display their Unicron proudly, so we needed to make sure the joints were strong enough to hold a pose. To meet these goals, we took a digital force gauge and started benchmarking the amount of physical force required to articulate each appendage and perform each conversion step. With each new model, we would fine-tune our benchmarks to optimize conversion while also preserving Unicron’s ability to pose.”
The Hasbro Transformers: War For Cybertron Unicron is expected to ship in early 2021. Though no exact date is given. But judging from the update, it is likely to happen in the three months or so. We could be wrong.
