Hot Toys has posted an updated via Twitter on the Anti-Venom collectible figure designed by Japanese graphic designer and illustrator Hiroto Ohkubo from INSTINCTOY.
The Hot Toys x INSTINCTOY Anti-Venom is the latest collaboration with select artist for the toy maker’s Artist Mix line of collectible figures. For this new figure, the artist re-imagine the symbiotic character in an alternative and express palette.
As per the official words:
“For the 2nd installment, we conceptualised the colourway with reference to “ANTI VENOM”. The focus of the design is the silver blood vessels that surface from the pearl white body. We used phosphorescence as the figure’s main body base, this can be considered one of the highlights of soft vinyl figures. The image of a huge figure measuring about 34cm tall glowing brightly in the dark is definitely a masterpiece to behold.”
And yes, this figure totally glows in the dark which is what made it so freaking awesome. It is not often to see glow-in-the-dark used on collectible figure and it being Venom, or Anti-Venom, in this instance, seems highly appropriate.
As you can see, the figure is painted in gradient white color scheme with incredible amount of details, including silver tendons, distinctive web-like patterns in ultra black across the chest, and newly painted interchangeable head sculpts. The latter include a grinning head sculpt and a head sculpt with Venom’s signature long tongue.
The dark blood vessels become more pronounced when the figure glows in the dark. The figure measures around 34 centimeters and it will have limited articulation at the head, wrist and ankle.
The Hot Toys x INSTINCTOY Anti-Venom Collectible Figure will be available at select markets.
