Anyone who is looking to get a smartwatch cannot ignore Huami Amazfit line of smartwatches because of the price points and the growing number of models, which now includes the Amazfit T-Rex and Amazfit Bip S.

Amazfit T-Rex

The T-Rex is like its namesake a beast of smartwatches. It boasts no less than 12 military certifications that include heat, cold and humidity resistant and salt, acid and alkali resistance.

Other notables include an 1.3-inch AMOLED touch display, option for always-on mode, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with anti-fingerprint coating, GPS dual satellites positioning, Bluetooth 5.0/BT LE, BioTracker PPG Bio-Tracking Optical Sensor, 3-axis accelerometer, geomagnetic sensor, ambient light sensor, and 50 ATM water resistance (50 meters or 164 feet).

Amazfit T-Rex comes outfitted with a 390 mAh lithium polymer battery that gives you 20 days of use, or a whopping 66 days in basic watch mode. However, if you flipped on the GPS, 20 hours is all you gonna get.

Amazfit Bip S

On the other end of the spectrum is the Amazfit Bip S, the latest in the Bip family, that boasts integration with Huami-PAI. Huami-PAI is described as an indicator of personal activity that offers details about your heart health and overall fitness.

But TBH, for a person like me who doesn’t give a damn about those metrics, PAI is far from a selling point.

Anywho, like the rest of the Bip members, it has that Apple Watch style rectangular case and it is insanely lightweight, tipping the scales at mere 31g.

Other notables include an 1.28-inch transflective color TFT display, option for always-on mode, 2.5D Corning Gorilla 3 with anti-fingerprint coating, 316L stainless case, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0/BLE, BioTracker PPG Bio-Tracking Optical Sensor, 3-axis accelerometer, geomagnetic sensor, and 5 ATM (50 meters or 164 feet) water resistance. Bip S gets a 200 mAh which is good for up to 40 days of use.

Despite the devices debuted at CES 2020, some details remain sketchy. Details like the amount RAM and onboard storage and OS.

Huami Amazfit T-Rex is now selling in China for 799 yuan (or around US$116). As for the Amazfit Bip S, pricing and availability are TBA.
