Back in 2019, IKEA and World Surf League (WSL) announced a collaboration. Fast forward to 2022, IKEA and WSL are ready to bring the resulting products of the collaboration to the market.
The collection, collectively called KÅSEBERGA, includes over 25 products for the home and life on the go. Yup. IKEA is pushing its boundaries, again, going beyond homes and having both surfers and ocean lovers covered.
IKEA x WSL KÅSEBERGA Collection is wide and varied, and it includes a beach chair, a portable grill, a coffee table, a bag, and even a hand plane for body surfing – just to name a few.
This unique collab saw the IKEA design team working with WSL’s surfers Kassia Meador and Rob Machado to produce products that are not only functional but also sustainable.
Products in the KÅSEBERGA Collection are mostly made of recycled polyester and/or renewables like bamboo and cork.
The name KÅSEBERGA, in case anyone’s wondering, is named after a small city in Sweden with one of the most southern surf breaks in the country.
The IKEA x World Surf League KÅSEBERGA Collection is set to launch globally in May 2022. Though availability may differ depending on the region.
