like any future-tech fans, i was totally impressed by iPhone 4S and Siri but to hold the ‘Home’ button to activate it, is not something that i had in mind of the future. but thanks to the geeks at… er… ThinkGeek, you and i don’t have to do that come 2012. ThinkGeek has developed the IRIS 9000, a voice control module for iPhone and Siri. all you have to do is to dock your iPhone 4S into the IRIS 9000 and use the included micro remote to trigger Siri from up to 50 feet away. there is a built-in mic that listens to your command and an integrated speaker announces Siri’s response back to you. the voice of Siri alone already sounds like a voice of future, and the IRIS 9000’s retro-future aluminum accents design only makes it even more endearing. not forgetting that the name ‘IRIS 9000’ and the flickering glowing red eye are a couple things that make it even more Lost in Space-like. as a bonus, you can even use it as a speakerphone. honestly, i am totally sold. catch an official sneak at this awesome product coming your way in 2012 after the break. though we do not know exactly when in 2012 the IRIS 9000 voice control module for iPhone and Siri will be made available but we do know it will retail for $59.99.
