Jia De Li Esports Gaming Sofa/Couch

The gaming chair might be the greatest creation since, well, the chairs themselves. But let’s face it, these ergonomic thrones weren’t built for console gamers or mini PC enthusiasts who prefer gaming from the comfort of their TV zone. That’s where gaming sofas come in. You might’ve seen a few brands attempt this, but let me assure you, nothing quite matches the quirky charm of the Jia De Li Esports Gaming Sofa.

Jia De Li Esports Gaming Sofa/Couch

Jia De Li, a lesser-known furniture brand, has taken the bucket seat design of classic gaming chairs and reimagined it as a low-slung sofa. The result is an unmistakable hybrid—a bucket seat-inspired couch designed to align perfectly with your TV, whether it’s wall-mounted or perched on a bench. Now, Jia De Li claims its X-001 model is mecha-inspired, but if I’m being brutally honest, I see no Gundam vibes here. That said, it’s still undeniably cool.

The X-001 features breathable, abrasion-resistant leather (which they claim is durable—something only time and late-night Dorito marathons can truly test). It also boasts ergonomic lumbar support and a reclining feature, though it seems limited to two fixed angles: a standard 90° upright position for intense gaming sessions and a 110° recline for what they call “mobile gaming.” So it is not quite designed for you to take a nap but I guess you could if you want.

The armrests are adjustable in height, much like standard gaming chairs. However, the sofa has one extra party trick: fixed rear legs combined with two front caster wheels, making it easy to roll around when you need to shift positions (or, let’s be real, retrieve the few Doritos that eluded your mouth under it).

For size enthusiasts, here’s the breakdown: the sofa measures 108 cm (42.5 inches) tall, 62 cm (24.4 inches) deep, and 56 cm (22 inches) wide. The seat itself is 50 cm (19.7 inches) deep, 50 cm (19.7 inches) wide, and stands at a height of 43 cm (16.9 inches). The armrests clock in at 68 cm (26.8 inches), although it’s unclear if that’s their maximum or standard height.

The sofa comes in two variations, Models A and B, differing only in backrest design. We have no idea if it is any good. My experience with the Haworth Fern gaming chair suggests that you won’t know until you’ve had a solid test session (and yes, a review of the Haworth Fern x Halo is coming after the new year, by the way).

As for Jia De Li itself, the brand hails from Foshan in Guangdong province, and while we’re unsure if this is an original design or a sneaky knockoff, a quick Google image search didn’t reveal any doppelgängers. If you’re savvy enough to navigate Taobao, you could snag one of these gaming sofas for 680 yuan [CH] (roughly US$93). A budget-friendly throne for the console king or queen.
