Recently, I came across a piece of news about a man modifying his body to look like an alien. For fans of Transformers Bumblebee—specifically the movieverse version—you don’t need to go to such extremes to look like dear old Bee. Killerbody has the costume and now even his signature blaster that magically replaces his arm and hand. It is Cybertronian tech, but unfortunately, you will not be able to “magically” materialize the cannon. You can, however, wear it.

The Transformers Bumblebee Wearable Blaster from Killerbody even lets you display this glorious Cybertronian weapon on a purpose-built stand—something I bet Bumblebee cannot do. Powered by a whopping six AA cells and two AAA cells, this wearable toy has two buttons inside that let you trigger various FX effects. When powered on and in standby (i.e., no modes activated), the lights glow blue. There are three key modes: Alert, Battle, and Destroy.
In Alert mode, the flaps or armor open with red light effects. In Battle mode, the armor (flaps) closes, and the cannon extends. And in Destroy mode, the barrel spins like a Gatling gun. Every mode is accompanied by red light effects and appropriate sound effects—in addition to the requisite startup and shutdown sound effects.
Interestingly, this product is compatible with the Bumblebee helmet‘s voice control, allowing simultaneous battle mode switching for both the Bumblebee Wearable Blaster and the Bumblebee Wearable Helmet. So now, the only thing left for your transformation into the Autobot scout specialist is the costume. No tattoos and no body modifications necessary.

The Transformers Bumblebee Wearable Blaster is made of ABS and metal and boasts movie-accurate detailing, including a hollowed-out muzzle design complete with burn effects, classic Bumblebee yellow with metallic texture and hand-applied battle-worn finishing, and a vent with a honeycomb grille that disguises the speaker. The main power button sits on the outside, masquerading as a large rivet, and when powered on, it also plays the classic transformation sound effect.
The cannon comes with a soft wrap-around arm piece that protects the wearer’s elbow joint and improves comfort. It is a separate, removable piece. The package includes the wearable cannon, a beautiful foam storage box, the stand, and the arm protection piece. The cannon itself measures 56.5 x 14.5 x 21.5 cm. With the base and without FX activated, it measures 57.3 x 18.5 x 27.5 cm. It can also be displayed in Alert or Battle mode if so desired.
The Transformers Bumblebee Wearable Blaster by Killerbody is now available from the Killerbody web store for US$399.
