What you see here are totally wearable and they are officially licensed merchandise, btw. Perfect for fans of Transformers who seek to make an entrance in any cosplay event. Probably not Halloween parties, though.

You are likely not able to enter regular houses – especially with the Optimus Prime costume as it towers at 2.43 meters (about 8 feet). The Bumblebee version is nothing to sneer at too. It stands at 2.2 meters, or roughly 7.7 feet.

The costumes are made of high-quality, 65-degree hardness EVA foam and PVC, and as it can see, it has a fantastic acrylic paint application – complete with weathering effect. Certain parts are treated with photosensitive printing which further up the realism.

However, such awesome cosplay costumes do demand some level of physical fitness if you are planning on wearing all day at, say, a convention. Bumblebee weighs in at 25 kilograms (55 lbs) while Optimus Prime is a tad heavier at 30 kilograms, or 66 lbs.

The weight is not including the base and the support frame – both which are necessary to prop it up for display. Speaking of display, the aforementioned height does not include the base and also, yes, it makes for a good display piece in your home when you are not wearing it – provided ceiling height is not an issue.

Now for the absolutely dope news. Both the Killerbody Transformers Bumblebee and Optimus Prime Cosplay Costumes are available for anyone who is interested. They are custom pieces and cost between 70,000-80,000 yuan (U$10,000-11,500) each. The price is definitely not for the faint of heart. But considering it is essentially a display piece and a costume, the pricing is to be expected.

A huge shout out to Killerbody for answering to all our questions and also for sending all the awesome images our way. Much appreciated!
