Kymera New Personal Watercraft 2020

Kymera, one of the earliest companies to introduce electric-powered bodyboard, has some new and pretty exciting products lined up, including a jet ski-like personal watercraft called K-X2, a kayak and a surf board – all electric-powered, of course. Among the three, I must say the K-X2 is the most interesting contraption. It is not quite a jet ski and yet feels like it is one.

One key difference between K-X2 and jet ski is, the former is very compact and it is designed to be split into upper and bottom half for easy transportation in regular vehicles like cars, SUVs and trucks. Not a lot is known about this interesting watercraft except that it weighs 75 lbs, has a top speed of 35 mph, and the undisclosed motor is powered by a battery good for an hour of mixed use.

Kymera Kayak

The Kayak, on the other hand, looks like a super chill ride that makes briskly 7 mph, weighs 65 lbs and has a range of 20 miles. Finally, the Surf Board is a surfboard that lets you “surf” even if there aren’t any waves. As before, the propulsion is undisclosed, but we do know whatever is packed inside the seemingly thick hull is capable 25 mph and it has a mixed use battery life of an hour.

Kymera Surf Board

The Surf Board is significantly lighter too, coming in at just 45 lbs. Interestingly, the entire line up including the existing Body Board use the same batteries, which means the batteries can be swap between the watercraft if necessary.
