As the world and Italy is grappling with the onslaught of the novel coronavirus pandemic, Italian supercar manufacturer Automobili Lamborghini has announced that has converted some of its production plant in Sant’Agata Bolognese to produce surgical masks and protective medical shields.

Lamborghini Surgical Masks and Protective Shield

These medical protective equipment will be supplied to Sant’Orsola-Malpighi Hospital in Bologna. The Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences of the University of Bologna will oversee the validation testing of the protective medical equipment before delivery of the products to the hospital.

Lamborghini said its Upholstery Department will make a thousand masks a day while the composites production plant and the Research and Development department will produce 200 polycarbonate protective medical shields.

It is heartwarming to see individuals and businesses who have the ability and resources to contribute coming forward to help in this unprecedented time.

Automobili Lamborghini is not the only company to step in to help. Meanwhile in other parts of the world, Dyson will be contributing over 10,000 designed by Dyson ventilators, while Razer, New Balance and more have separately announced that they, too, will be making mask to meet the demand of the frontliners.
