Land Rover Range Rover Electric Vehicle Teased

Range Rover is, at this moment, half-green at best. It is late in the EV game but not for long, though. Land Rover has a Range Rover Electric prototype in the testing phase. Little is known about this upcoming, first-ever all-electric Range Rover, but Land Rover said the Range Rover EV will deliver performance comparable to a flagship Range Rover V8, and of course, retain all the all-terrain capability.

The upcoming Range Rover Electric is set to be a groundbreaking model with numerous patents and rigorous testing for extreme conditions and terrains, including deep water wading up to 850 mm deep water and at up to 50 km/h. It aims to be the quietest and most refined Range Rover, featuring unique noise cancellation and enhanced cabin comfort, thanks to its electric infrastructure.

The vehicle hints at its modern, all-electric drive in its design and will include an 800V architecture for rapid charging. Owners can expect a seamless experience with easy charging, regular software updates, and technology to maximize range. It will be manufactured in Solihull, UK, using a flexible architecture alongside hybrid models, coinciding with a new £70m facility. Batteries and electric drive units will be assembled at JLR’s new center in Wolverhampton, UK.
