LEGO is taking a green thumb approach with its new release, but you won’t need water or sunlight for this botanical beauty. The LEGO Ideas The Botanical Garden set has arrived, just in time to let you live out your dream of being a Victorian botanist, minus the funny hat and questionable hygiene practices of the 1800s.
This 3,792-piece masterpiece lets you build a dazzling glasshouse that houses over 35 different plant species. Yes, 35—so if you’ve been using succulents to pretend you’re a plant expert, it’s time to step up. You’ll also get to explore a spiral staircase in the main atrium, leading to an observation deck where you can pretend you’re the lord of all things leafy. The side atriums? One’s got a café, because obviously after all that building you’ll need a brick-built coffee break.
As if that wasn’t enough, there’s also a cast of 12 minifigures—including gardeners, visitors, and a barista—plus an assortment of cute critters like birds, a bunny, and even a beetle. And, in true LEGO fashion, every nook and cranny of this 22 cm high, 51 cm wide, and 25 cm deep structure is brimming with intricate details, like colorful peonies decorating the outdoor gardens.
The set is based on LEGO Ideas member, Italy-based LEGO fan Valentina Bima aka Goannas89’s submission on LEGO Ideas which garnered 10,000 votes and subsequently shortlisted by the Danish toymaker to be an official set.
