The LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon is one of the much loved set in the LEGO Star Wars collection (especially the ridiculously pricey UCS edition), but if the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story (Walt Disney Pictures, 2018) does indeed make much of dent in the box office, then perhaps, the star space vehicle of the flick may have a place in the LEGO Star Wars cult altar too. Just maybe. Whatever the case maybe, you will want to secure yourself a set (or several, if you have extremely deep pockets) just in case this thing becomes as big as its forebear.
Speaking of which, the LEGO 75212 Star Wars Kessel Run Millennium Falcon is available now ahead of Solo: A Star Wars Story release in May. It is not as humongous as the lovable UCS, but it is still big at over 1,400 pieces (or 1,414 pieces, to be precise). It is the exact replica of the movie’s, which means it has a single “snout” as opposed to two (and thus missing the gap) found on the “fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy” that we were so used to. But rest assure, this Kessel Run Millennium Falcon is no junk. It is clean, it is in white to boot and it appeared to be missing on the ass-saving quad blasters too.
I have no idea why the difference. I am sure the movie will explain how the dual protruding front bulkhead comes about. Each set comes with six minifigures including youthful versions of Han Solo, Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian, plus new characters, Quay Tolsite, Qi’ra and a Kessel droid, accompanied by a few accessories. As for the space ride itself, it boasts a 2-minifigure cockpit with detachable canopy, a pair of spring-loaded shooters, detachable escape craft, opening hull plates to reveal the glorious detailed interior (it opens up like a lotus flower), sensor dish, ramp, and rotating top and bottom laser turrets with a space for 2 minifig.
The LEGO 75212 Star Wars Kessel Run Millennium Falcon, first announced in February, is now available for your taking in exchange for $169.99 of your hard-earned bacon from LEGO.com, Target and Amazon.
