Well, what do you know? It turns out that Star Wars also has its version of Marvel’s What if…?. It is called LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, a four-part miniseries created for Disney+ that is set to start streaming on Disney+ on September 13, 2024. Here’s the gist of what the short animated series is about:
“The series follows Sig Greebling, who accidentally activates a powerful Jedi relic that rewrites reality, forcing him to restore things to normal.”
That’s right. Because of Sig Greebling, the good becomes evil and the evil becomes good, and god damn, it sounds like fun! Anyways… the LEGO set you see here, called LEGO Star Wars The Dark Falcon (75389), is one of the LEGO sets based on the miniseries.
The set features a dark version of the familiar two-prong Millennium Falcon with flip-up panels for easy access to the detailed interior, which includes Darth Jar Jar’s throne, the command center, hyperdrive, entertainment area, and jail cell. The Dark Falcon further boasts spring-loaded shooters, rotating cannons, and a removable gunner post.
But the real stars of the set, IMHO, are the minifigures which include 6 never seen before minifigures, namely, Darth Jar Jar, Darth Rey, Jedi Vader (hell, yeah!), Beach Luke, Bounty Hunter C-3PO, and Darth Dev. The minifigures are accompanied by accessories like lightsabers and a blue milk carton.
All told the 1,579-piece set measures over 5 in. (12 cm) high, 17 in. (43 cm) long, and 12.5 in. (32 cm) wide when completed. I think this set is going to be a hit and it will be darling of minifigure collectors. We just hope that white Vader will turn yellow over time.
