Ever wonder what it was like to be one of the engineers and/or technicians to put together the PEUGEOT 9X8 24H Le Mans Hybrid Hypercar? Well, wonder no more, my friend, because the LEGO Technic PEUGEOT 9X8 24H Le Mans Hybrid Hypercar is here to let you put one together.
After its official unveiling last year, Team Peugeot TotalEnergies has partnered with LEGO to recreate the same ride in LEGO Technic form and the result is an impressive 1,775-piece set, the LEGO Technic PEUGEOT 9X8 24H Le Mans Hybrid Hypercar (42156).
Not only the aerodynamic form has been faithfully recreated using LEGO Technic elements but the real-life 4-wheel drive hypercar’s electric-powered 7-speed transmission has been replicated in precise scale in this 1:10 scale version.
Similarly, the hybrid system featuring a V6 piston engine and a model version of the electric motor and its connected battery has been faithfully recreated.
The model further features unique opening doors, a suspension especially designed for this model, and a turning steering wheel operable with the steering wheel or the gear wheel on top of the car.
Rounding up the package are the livery graphics and PEUGEOT and sponsor logo, and perhaps the most striking aspects of the completed model are the atmospheric glow-in-the-dark elements flanking the side of the front spoiler.
When completed the model measures over 5 in. (13 cm) high, 19.5 in. (50 cm) long, and 9 in. (22 cm) wide.
The LEGO Technic PEUGEOT 9X8 24H Le Mans Hybrid Hypercar is, IMHO, possibly the most cohesive LEGO Technic automobile model thus far, since after the Ford GT model.
The LEGO Technic PEUGEOT 9X8 24H Le Mans Hybrid Hypercar can be had for US$199.99 when it becomes available starting May 01, 2023.
