Hot on the heels of Red Magic 6, Black Shark 4 and ASUS ROG Phone 5 is Lenovo’s second gaming phone, the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 Gaming Smartphone (Legion Phone Duel 2 Pro in China), a follow up to the brand’s Legion Phone Duel, from last year.
Armed with the latest in mobile hardware, including Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G Mobile Platform, Adreno 660 840 MHz GPU, up to 16 GB LPDDR5 memory and up to 512 GB UFS 3.1 storage, along with gaming focused-features like Octa-Trigger input (4x shoulder ultrasonic, 2x rear capacitance, 2x display force-touch), Dual HaptiX feedback, and new twin-turbo fan cooling system, Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 Gaming Smartphone promised the next evolution in mobile gaming.
And it looks very fancy too, with a bump that stretches from side-to-side right slap in the center of the back of the device. The bump is where you will find the main camera system comprising of a 64 MP ultra-wide and a 16 MP extreme ultra-wide cameras, alongside an actual fan.
That’s right. An actual fan on a smartphone. Not sure if it is cool or a burden to hold now that there’s a bump right in middle that will create a see-saw rocking effect when lay flat on its back.
Like the first Phone Duel, it gets a motorized pop-up camera that emerged on center of the long side to reveal a 44 MP autofocus camera paired to an ultra-wide lens.
The front-facing camera fully supports 4K videoing, accurate background removal, and customizable animated avatar, and boasts AI-enabled noise-cancelling microphone. The main cameras, btw, records at up to 8K and does HDR10+ videoing too.
Other spec-sheet details are impressive too and they include a 144 Hz 6.92-inch FHD+ (2,460 x 1,080 pixels) AMOLED 8-bit HDR display, Corning Gorilla Glass, dual user-facing Dolby Atmos speakers, 7x magnet stereo speakers, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and a very impressive battery – a 5,500 mAh with 90W charging that afford it to get it from 0-100% in just 30 minutes.
The battery is another key features that touts Phalanx Battery Protection system that promised to provide optimal charging speeds, bypass mode and overcharge prevention and it is said to maintain 85% max capacity even after 1,200 full charge cycle.
If you are impressed, you may pick up the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 Gaming Smartphone from Lenovo UK for a special web price of £799.99 (U.P. £899.99) (or about US$1,098).
