What’s your impression of a projector? Probably a flat box, or at best, a cube? And it is these norm that makes the LG HU80K Cinebeam Laser 4K Projector stands out in the market. Yes, the oblong thing you see here is a projector. Defying the norm, the HU80K from LG takes on a vertical form factor, so it could be place on the floor to project up to 4K resolution videos on the wall, or if you so desire, onto the ceiling by means of the integrated reflector. The reflector here also serve to protect the lens of the projector when the device is not in use.

LG HU80K Cinebeam is a 8.3 MP HUD, 2,500 lumens (ANSI) laser projector that offers 3,840 by 2,160 pixels, throwing up to 150-inch of display on any flat, smooth surface. It totally supports HDR10 and perhaps more intriguingly, it is also a Smart TV too. With App Store, HU80K offers a world of entertainment options and that’s in addition to the built-in DTV Tuner. If that isn’t enough, it also allows you to wirelessly share videos from a compatible smartphone or tablet, so you can enjoy Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, and more, in all its enormous glory.

And it can do this too (which is perfect for bed time movies):

Plus you can share a variety of contents wirelessly from Android and iOS devices. Other features include a 20,000-hour laser lamp life, auto keystone, 1.2x zoom, supports a variety of aspect ratio, an astonishing 150,000:1 contrast ratio, USB ports, HDMI inputs, Bluetooth technology, built-in 7W+7W stereo speakers, built-in cord reel, and integrated hand grip for ease of lugging it around, well, likely from room-to-room. It does not have an integrated battery, therefore it has to be plugged it. This means this is a home-bound device and not quite a portable device, despite its relatively small size of 6.5 x 18.5 x 6.5 inches (165 x 470 x 165 mm) and weighing just 14.8 lbs (6.71 kilograms).
