LG will join the next evolution in LCD TV with its first-ever QNED Mini LED TVs. LG QNED Mini LED TVs will the top-of-the-line offered by the brand’s 2021 premium LCD TV lineup.

LG’s iteration of Mini TV is a coming together of quantum dot and NanoCell technologies, and Mini LEDs. It promised brightness and contrast that are far superior than that of conventional LCD TVs.

The upcoming QNED range of Mini LED TV will include 10 new 4K and 8K models with screen sizes up to 86 inches.

In case anyone’s wondering, no, Mini TV is not here to replace OLED. It will be another option for those looking at high-end TVs. Think of them as Plasma TVs and LCD TVs of ten-twenty years ago.

LG said its QNED Mini TV packs almost 30,000 tiny LEDs which, together with 2,500 dimming zones and advanced local dimming technology, is capable of producing “incredible peak brightness and a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1.” What this means is breathtaking HDR image quality coupled with outstanding contrast and deeper blacks, a wide color gamut and of course, excellent color accuracy.

LG will be displaying its top-of-the-line 86-inch 8K QNED TV at the brand’s virtual exhibition booth during CES 2021, beginning on January 11, 2021.
