Cadillac LYRIQ Concept Electric Vehicle

It took a while for luxury car makers to get into the SUV game. I imagine the same would be for electric SUV. Not that there aren’t any luxe electric SUV, but the options are limited if you are in the market for one.

But with Cadillac LYRIQ, you will have yet another option. Granted, it is a show car, a concept, for now and there’s no telling when it will actually see fruition.

Like VW and many major automaker, LYRIQ is a preview of GM’s modular electric platform and along with it, a new design language. That said, the official words are really more marketing talk than “real world” details.

LYRIQ will have over 300 miles (483 km) range on a full charge and it will offer multiple charging options to suit home, workplace, and on the road – including DC fast charging rates over 150 kW as well as Level 2 charging rates up to 19 kW.

Expect the marque’s Super Cruise, the truly hands-free driver assistance feature, to find its way on Cadillac’s first electric vehicle.

In addition, new technologies such as dual-plane augmented reality-enhanced head-up display and remote self-parking are in order, along with a 33-inch-diagonal curved advanced LED screen, driver recognition system that will play a choreographed lighting sequence when the car detects the driver is approaching.

Plus, there will be a new road noise cancelling technology, so users could fully appreciate the onboard premium audio system, a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system.

Cadillac LYRIQ Electric Vehicle will be offered in rear-wheel drive and performance all-wheel drive configurations. If you are interested, you can find out more about this proposed luxe electric SUV from Cadillac HERE.
