What has an automaker known for its luxury sedan has to do with music? Probably nothing, but here it is, a pair of spanking new Mercedes-Benz Bluetooth Headphones. Make no mistake, though. This pair of audio cans is not the one currently offered on Mercedes-Benz Lifestyle Collection in the U.S.A. This pair is new.
Normally I won’t be swoon over by the so-called lifestyle product by automobile makers, but man, this pair of over-ear Bluetooth headphones, which comes in a glorious high-gloss piano finish, from the pointed star is looking pretty dope.
However, beyond the looks, it is just another pair of Bluetooth headphones featuring Bluetooth 5.0 technology for wireless audio streaming (duh), hybrid active noise canceling, touch control Qualcomm aptX audio technology, integrated microphones for taking calls, and a rechargeable battery that provides up to 18 hours of personal music enjoyment.
In addition to the rather rudimentary features is a “transparent” mode that allow specific outside noises, such as cockpit announcements from the aircraft’s crew, to reach your ears without the need to remove the headphones.
A few other notables include soft artificial leather padding with decorative seams on headband, 3.5 mm headphone jack for when the battery conks out, USB charging, and each pair of cans come with a matching carry bag.
The new Mercedes-Benz Bluetooth Headphones was revealed at the IAA 2019 (AKA Frankfurt Motor Show) and it is now available via Mercedes-Benz lifestyle shop UK for £325 (about US$400). However, we don’t seem to locate it on the USA website.
