Many famous pop and rock stars have had their biopics, but there was one mega star who should have had one, too, but never got one—until now. Folks, this is it: the biggest pop star the world has ever known, Michael Jackson, finally gets his own deserving biopic, simply called MICHAEL.

What makes this soon-to-hit-theaters film about Michael’s life even more significant is that it stars the late superstar’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson. For those not in the know, Jaafar is the son of Michael’s older brother Jermaine Jackson, who himself was an original member of The Jackson 5. Here’s what the movie is about:
“MICHAEL is the cinematic portrayal of the life and legacy of one of the most influential artists the world has ever known. The film tells the story of Michael Jackson’s life beyond the music, tracing his journey from the discovery of his extraordinary talent as the lead of the Jackson Five to the visionary artist whose creative ambition fueled a relentless pursuit to become the biggest entertainer in the world. Highlighting both his life off-stage and some of the most iconic performances from his early solo career, the film gives audiences a front-row seat to Michael Jackson as never before. This is where his story begins.”
MICHAEL stars Jaafar Jackson, Nia Long, Juliano Valdi, KeiLyn Durrel Jones, Laura Harrier, with Miles Teller and Colman Domingo. It is directed by Antoine Fuqua, with Graham King serving as the producer. The film is made with the cooperation of the Michael Jackson Estate and distributed by Lionsgate.
MICHAEL will hit theaters on April 24, 2026. Meanwhile, here’s the final trailer.
