The onslaught of Evangelion collaborations continue despite the indefinite delay of the four theatrical release due to the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the latest to join the Evangelion “fever” is Nestle Japan with the Nescafe Gold Blend Barista i Limited Evangelion Model.
Based on the brand’s best-selling coffee machine in Japan, the predominately black Nescafe Gold Blend Barista i Limited Evangelion Model has sides decorated with Evangelion images. One side features an illustration of EVA Unit-01 in monochrome and the other side, is the NERV logo, also in monochromatic brown.
Unfortunately, as much as we want a EVA Unit-01 head as a coffee machine with coffee pouring out of its mouth, we are not getting it. If you want an EVA-themed coffee experience, the Nescafe Gold Blend Barista i Limited Evangelion Model is the closest you will get.
Anywho… to commemorate the release of this special edition coffee machine, Nestle Japan is throwing in matching coaster too.
Nestle Mail Order customers will get a stone water absorbing coaster with an illustration of EVA Unit-01 as found on the coffee machine while those who pick up the machine other than through Mail Order will receive the stainless coaster with the NERV design and logo. The free gifts are, of course, while stocks last.
Finally, Nestle is dishing out coffee recipes inspired by key characters, namely, the EVA pilots. If you read Japanese, you can learn more about the coffee machine and the campaign here.
The Nescafe Gold Blend Barista i Limited Evangelion Model will be released in limited units starting June 26, priced at 8,980 yen plus tax (about U$84). Pre-order in Japan is already in process.
