unlike others in the auto industry who constantly wow us with new vehicles or concepts, Smart is keeping rather low-profile in recent months. i supposed, in order not to sink into the background of this industry, auto makers have to do something if have ran out of tricks in their sleeves. having said that, that might just what Smart is doing. it is giving us the special edition Smart fortwo, dubbed nightorange, and what do you know? it comes in orange and black hue. the nightorange, is essentially a cosmetic makeover for the fortwo and not a new model.

the exterior features an exclusive orange metallic finish combined with a black tridion safety cell. the nightorange is fitted with a set of matching 15-inch black 3-double spoke alloy wheels, wrapped with 175/55 R15 tires up front and 195/50 R15 at the rear. other exterior cosmetic features include black painted headlamp rims, black mirror caps, and nightorange logos in the mirror triangles. the interior is predominantly in black with dashes of orange, for example, black Nappa leather steering wheel with orange stitches.

there are three variants of the nightorange: a 52 kW naturally-aspirated 1.0-liter petrol engine with micro-hybrid drive technology, a 62 kW turbo-charged 1.0-liter petrol engine and a 40 kW 0.8-liter turbo diesel engine. Smart is taking in order for the nightorange and the car is expected to reach the dealers on the 22nd, next month. all three variants are available in either the coupe or cabrio form.
