yes. these are real Nike kicks and those are real natural cork covering it, and no it wasn’t an April’s Fools’ prank. amaze? well, we are and at the same time, pretty thrilled by the prospect of putting cork on our feet. why? we have absolutely no idea why. perhaps, it is something out of the ordinary and thanks to it being a pair of sneakers, it won’t be mistaken for a coaster. available as Nike Air Force 1 Low or the High, this latest and rather odd option allows you to custom the shoe’s upper in a choice of raw cork that comes with a lighter shade or dark cork, which has a darker tone. we’d go for the raw cork which we thought looks more cork-like. erhmm. that doesn’t sounds right but anyways, you get the idea.
the overlays and quarter panels can be customized in different shades, plus you also get to choose the color of laces, stitching, outsole, sockliner, backtab and more. and oh, the midsole is also customizable with the option of going all out cork, premium leather or choose from a palette of eight colors if you opt for classic sole. the choice is yours. additionally, you can also add your name or a short personal message with an embroidered personalization on the backtab. one inspiration would be “cork”, nah, just kidding, but then again, why not? the Nike Air Force 1 ID Cork is available now starting at $190 and it is available for both men and the fairer sex.
