the limited Nissan Juke-R has left us wanting more out of a Juke but sadly, we all know the R is not going to happen for ordinary folks like us and besides, it probably would have an astronomical price tag that we wouldn’t even want to begin to dream about. however, a real production-ready performance Juke will be heading your way come early 2013, in the form of the Nissan Juke NISMO. yes. NISMO has its hands on this compact SUV, so fans should expect significant performance and aesthetic improvements over the lesser Juke, though the details are still rather scant at this point. having graced a couple of auto shows as a concept, the Juke NISMO production model will make its global debut at the Le Mans 24-hour this weekend alongside with the pioneering Nissan DeltaWing and Juke-R. powered by a tuned-up version of its 1.6-liter direct injection turbocharged petrol unit, the Juke NISMO features stiffened suspension setup, sportier steering, improved traction control, and torque vectoring for enhanced grip and cornering capability. as for the look department, expect to be greeted by a newly engineered aerodynamics kit that comprises of lower front and rear bumpers, wider wings and sill side skirts, a modified grille, and a tailgate spoiler for airflow control, plus huge 18-inch alloy rolling stocks with wide tires. on the inside, the interior has been redesigned to boost a sporty feel including special suede-trimmed NISMO sports seats accented with red stitching. further details and specs are expected to be released closer to launch, which is slated to start early January 2013 in Europe with Japan and U.S. availability to be at a later date. from now till then, all we have are a few images to get us by, which you can find after the break.
