It is not quite a big deal for some, but if it is a big deal for you, then the Notti Smart Notification Light might be worthy of your consideration. So what the heck is Notti? Well, at the basic level, it is an artsy desk light, but on the smarter level, it is an app-controlled light that is fully customizable to provide visual notifications pushed from your smartphone. With the ability assign a unique color of your choice to each notification such as phone calls, text messages, Whatsapp, Facebook, Snapchat and more, It is not hard to see (no pun intended) how it can help you not to miss out important messages or notifications. It can even change colors based on the rhythm of the music too, that’s if you’re in the partying mood.
When its built-in 3W LED is not lighted, it works well as a piece of art sculpture that will look great in any contemporary homes. It also works as a brilliant mood light, letting you choose from a palette with 16 million colors to suit the ambience and it is totally dimmable too, just in case you want to get all romantic. A built-in rechargeable battery gives it up to 5 hours of continuous lighting, or up to a month (720 hours) if it is purely used for notifications. Up to four units can be connected to a single smartphone, providing you with visual cue of notifications whenever they are in range (which is 15 meters). There is also an alarm mode where the Notti will light up by gradually becoming brighter 5 minutes before your alarm is set to sound and the best part is, once set, the Notti will not need to be connected to your device for the alarm to work.
Connectivity between your device and Notti is, of course, via Bluetooth 4.0. Notti is designed to work with both iOS and Android devices with iOS 7 or higher and Android 4.3 and up above, respectively. Notti Smart Notification Light is available for pre-order on Kickstarter for $40 and up, with delivery expected to happen sometime in March 2015.
